About

Dogeard is a reading diary built for people who care about what they read — the readers who seek out Fitzcarraldo Editions and Archipelago Books, who hunt down translations, who write in the margins.

I built it because I wanted something better than Goodreads for literary fiction. A place that took indie presses seriously, made it easy to keep a proper reading diary, and let you see what people with actual taste were reading.

My name is Monroe Stephenson. I'm a software engineer based in Berlin, currently a Founding Engineer at CloudSquid and a Fulbright Scholar alumnus (Max Planck Institute). I spend a lot of time thinking about production AI systems and, separately, about books — and Dogeard is where those two things collide in the most useful way I could manage.

The site is a work in progress. If something is broken or a press you care about is missing, I want to know.
